When it comes to looking for a Financial Advisor, many people are looking for one that is FEE-ONLY. Instead of suggesting commission-driven investment strategies, our fee is a fully disclosed annual percentage of the investments we manage for you. Our clients want – and deserve – objective, unbiased professional guidance when it comes to making important decisions that impact their future. Managing Your Investments

We believe your financial plan is a vital part of managing your investments. The optimum way for us to manage your investments, is to understand how you think about your future and how we plan for you to get there. We provide active Investment Management services for individual clients on a FEE ONLY basis (we receive no commissions or benefit of any sort for the portfolios we propose)

 You talk to us about your personal objectives and then help us analyze your risk tolerance. We recommend an investment portfolio that is customized for you. This recommendation is an integral part of a written investment policy statement. This statement also outlines how performance will be gauged, including benchmarks against which performance will be measured. It is important to note that while past performance is important for comparison purposes, it not a guarantee of future results.

You review our investment portfolio recommendations and upon obtaining your agreement, we implement the agreed upon strategy by opening an account in your name at Charles Schwab. We have no relationship with Charles Schwab other than them providing a platform where we can manage your accounts.

You will receive statements (at least quarterly), trade confirmations and other account-related communications directly from Charles Schwab Investments. This will include transaction history and specific tax information, such as cost basis values. Each quarter you will also receive personalized investment reports from Hopkins Investment Management. These reports will show account performance and performance comparisons, together with our Quarterly Investment Letter. We will meet with you at least annually to review these reports and your portfolio’s performance, but we are available by phone or in person at any time you wish to meet.

Many investors feel that they are at the mercy of the ebb and flow of the stock market. We believe that investors are concerned about heightened risks related to traditional, publicly traded investments such as stocks and bonds. They are seeking potentially superior returns with lower volatility which can be provided by private investments.

Hopkins Capital Partners fund is a portfolio of private investments. We are a closed-end private equity limited partnership with a unique blend of cash flow producing real assets, diversified venture capital, and absolute return. The combination of these assets is designed to produce upside exposure with mitigated risk over a 3-5 year time-frame. We continue to offer this option for accredited investors*.

* To be an accredited investor one must have a net worth (excluding primary residence) of at least $1,000,000 OR have an income for the past 2 years of at least $200,000 ($300,000) for married couples.

By the time you actually meet the other professionals, it can be difficult to convey what you were previously told. For this reason we will facilitate a collaborative meeting between all your professionals where we sit around a table together with you. With 30 years of experience in the field of personal finance, including 17 years at the financial law firm he founded in his native South Africa, Hopkins Investment Management LLC President Martin Hopkins believes in the power of goals. He’s worked hard to achieve them for himself, and his ability to succeed has been tied to his clients’ successes.

A Certified Financial Planner® as well as an attorney, Martin earned his LLB and a bachelor of commerce degree from the prestigious University of Natal in Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. He and his wife, Lyn, came to the U.S. in 1996. After first settling in Princeton, N.J., and later moving to Fairfax, Va., they were soon drawn by the nautical charm and history of Annapolis, Md. In 2006, Martin and Lyn planted their roots even deeper when they became U.S. citizens. Today, the Hopkins Investment Management offices are headquartered in the heart of the Annapolis Historic District.

Martin has been a member of National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) since 2003 and has served on the board of the Northeast Division.

An avid boater, Martin enjoys exploring the inland water of the East Coast. He is a member of the local chapter of the United States Power Squadrons, an organization devoted to safe boating and educational programs and the Annapolis Maritime Museum. He is also an active leader in Church of the Nations International.

In her role as Hopkins Investment Management’s Manager of Operations, Lyn Hopkins brings the experience, vitality and knowledge honed by a career that spans two continents and includes positions with companies and organizations in both the financial services and educational sectors. She shares her enthusiasm and commitment to providing hands-on, highly personal client service with her husband, Martin, the firm’s founder and president.

After earning her undergraduate degree in education from South Africa’s Edgewood College, Lyn embarked on a challenging project in her native country. She pioneered the development of a private pre-school and kindergarten. This ultimately served previously disadvantaged children in the Natal Midlands community of South Africa. Lyn supervised the design of the school, oversaw the training of its staff and helped attract an enrollment of 100 students.

In 1996, Lyn and Martin came to the United States and settled in Princeton, N.J., with their two teenage sons. In Princeton, Lyn worked as the Operations Manager of Berlitz International’s Cross-cultural Department where she helped executives and their families make the transition to living and working in a foreign country.

After relocating to the Washington, D.C., area, she held a variety of positions that allowed her to work hand-in-hand with corporate CEOs, presidents and top executives. In addition to working for NASDAQ-traded companies, Lyn also held a position with The Council of Insurance Agents & Brokers. Headquartered in the nation’s capital, the Council is the premier association for commercial insurance and employee benefits intermediaries in the United States and abroad and provides a voice for their interests on Capitol Hill.

Lyn’s leisure time is spent enjoying her first grandchild, boating with her husband and exploring the waters of the Chesapeake Bay. At home in Annapolis, she also enjoys aerobic walking and being part of a writers’ group. Lyn gives back to the community through her involvement in the Assistance League of the Chesapeake and its annual fundraising efforts. She is also active in the Church of the Nations International.

Wendell Globig joined Hopkins Investment Management as a Investment Advisor Representative in 2007. He provides specialized investment options to clients and shares with them the unique insight gained from 39 years of modeling the behavior of machines, processes and people.

Wendell approaches investment opportunities with the precision and analysis of an engineer. For many years, he published an investment newsletter that offered advice derived from a proprietary model of global equity markets that he developed.

Wendell earned his bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Ohio State University in 1974. In 1990, he was licensed as a Professional Engineer and obtained his MBA from Canisius College in Buffalo, N.Y.

For 32 years, Wendell held technical and management positions with DuPont. He worked in five locations in four states before retiring from the company in 2006.

Today, Wendell lives near Richmond, Va., with his wife, Jeanie. He and his wife are the parents of three adult sons. He is active in Prison Ministry and is a local leader in the Church of the Nations International. Wendell also serves on the board of directors of Richmond Christian Leadership Institute, an intensive 10-month program that mentors and trains young professionals so that they can share their talents, identify opportunities and solve problems in the local community.

Wes Lyons is a US Naval Academy graduate who excelled as an aviator and currently thrives as a Due Diligence Analyst, Senior Financial Planner, Investment Committee Member, and Trader for Hopkins Investment Management.  Wes is a Certified Financial Planner™.

He was born and raised in Virginia and studied engineering at the Naval Academy, where he earned academic honors and won multiple rowing championships. After graduating in 2007, Wes married his lovely wife and classmate, Christi.  He earned his aviation wings and qualified as a Naval Flight Officer before leading a P-3 Orion crew on assignments around the globe.  Wes was also given the privilege of serving as the Executive Assistant to the Director of the Joint Integrated Air and Missile Defense Organization at the Pentagon.  During his service, Wes passed the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) exam, and in 2015, he left the active military to join Hopkins Investment Management.  

Wes loves to spend his free time with his wife Christi and their three sons. He also enjoys running, reading, and volunteering with his church and The Navigators discipleship ministry at the Naval Academy. Wes also continues to serve the Naval Reserve with the full support of Hopkins Investment Management.

Dedicated to helping clients with innovative solutions, Jenny Ignarski has more than 20 years’ experience in the financial field and 15 as a financial advisor. She is part of the growing Hopkins Investment Management team and continues the tradition of outstanding service while meeting clients at their point of need.

A native of Singapore and fluent in three languages, Jenny came to the United States at age 18 to attend Rutgers University, where she earned a degree in Business Administration with a Finance concentration and fell in love with financial management, project management and the United States.

Jenny started her professional career as a Dividend Representative for Shearson Lehman Hutton in New York City, one of the largest corporations in the financial services industry, where she developed her passion for client service and furthered her financial education. She has also served as Certified Financial Planner and Franchise Advisor for Ameriprise Financial and as treasurer and board member for the Nassau Christian Center, where she put her financial expertise to work for this local nonprofit.

Energized by helping clients define and achieve their goals, Jenny has enjoyed lasting relationships with those with whom she has worked.

Jenny especially enjoys family time and participating in the Moms-In-Touch group at her son’s school.

Rachelle Walley graduated cum laude from East Texas Baptist University with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1991. There she majored in Mathematics with a double-minor in Computer Information Systems and Music. After graduation, she entered the teaching profession and for 13 years taught physics, calculus, algebra, geometry and consumer math to high school students. 

 Rachelle began working as a Virtual Administrative Assistant in 2006 and has since earned the “Registered Paraplanner” designation. Her attention to detail and math and computer background make her a natural fit for our team. 

 She has an active family life with 4 teenage children-two of which are adopted from Ukraine. 

 Rachelle works with a team of virtual assistants through a company called Consider it Done!  They have been providing virtual administrative support to financial advisors since 2003 from their home base Jacksonville which is located in the piney woods of East Texas.
