Anne Arundel County Hospice and Bereavement Recommendations

Hopkins Investment Management has researched the Annapolis area for the best Hospice and Bereavement Support services for our clients.  Our recommendations are based on open source research, reviews, ratings, calls, and visits to some locations.

 Hospice of the Chesapeake

90 Ritchie Hwy, Pasadena, MD 21122

Hospice of the Chesapeake is a hospice organization that has served Annapolis and Anne Arundel County for over 35 years. With accreditation from the Joint Commission, this hospice typically provides care for about 350 patients. Although most hospice care is generally provided in the patient’s home, Hospice of the Chesapeake offers two separate 8-bedroom inpatient care centers – the Mandarin Inpatient Care Center and the Tate Hospice House – for those patients who need more complex and concentrated care than can be provided in the home.

In direct response to the needs of their patients and families, Hospice of the Chesapeake is on track to finish a new 14-bed inpatient care center located at their John and Cathy Belcher campus in Pasadena in the fall of 2015. These centers serve as better overall alternatives to long-term hospital stays, offering higher comfort and focused quality of care. In addition, Hospice of the Chesapeake provides dedicated service to those in assisted living communities and nursing homes – essentially wherever you or your loved one calls home. Hospice of the Chesapeake will provide care for patients regardless of their ability to pay. However, if you qualify, most insurance plans, including Medicare and Medicaid, offer a comprehensive hospice benefit that provides coverage for home care services, medication, medical equipment and supplies. If considering hospice for yourself or a loved one, we recommend looking into Hospice of the Chesapeake as a quality, local option.
