Assisted Living: Brandywine Senior Living at Princeton

155 Raymond Road, Princeton, NJ 08540

Brandywine Senior Living is an Assisted Living Community that offers residents a luxurious living experience with a wide range of amenities. They provide licensed nurses on-site 24 hours a day, and help coordinate healthcare with medical professionals. We recommend visiting Brandywine’s website to learn about their Escapades For Life program that is designed to add excitement and adventure to the lives of their residents, and their Reflections program dedicated to those diagnosed with Dementia and Alzheimer’s. According to SeniorAdvisor.com, the average monthly cost of living at Brandywine is as follows: around $3,500-4,530 for a semi-private room, around $5,190 for a studio, around $5,700 for a one-bedroom, and around $6,780 for a two-bedroom*. Private pay, some LTC insurance, and Medicare are accepted as forms of payment. Brandywine is considered a high-end assisted living option, which is reflected by its above average prices, its recognition as an Advanced Standing community by the state of New Jersey, and its positive testimonials and reviews. This leads us to recommend Brandywine Senior Living at Princeton as a quality assisted living choice. Skilled Nursing: St. Lawrence Rehab Center

12381, Lawrenceville Road, Lawrenceville, NJ 08648

St. Lawrence Rehab Center is both a rehabilitation hospital and a nonprofit Skilled Nursing Facility for short and long-term patients. The nursing facility can provide medical care for up to 80 residents at a given time. Although they specialize in generally shorter-term rehabilitative care such as physical and respiratory therapy, they provide high-quality comfort and general nursing care to their longer-term residents as well. St. Lawrence boasts a ratio of 3.5 licensed staff hours per resident per day, well above the statewide average of 1.62. According to HealthGrove.com and Medicare.gov, a high number of staff hours per resident per day is often an indication of more attentive care. A typical cost is around $240 per day for a semi-private room, and $270 per day for a private room, according to HealthGrove.com*.

Along with private pay and LTC insurance, St. Lawrence will accept Medicare and, for those who qualify, Medicaid, as forms of payment. Due to their Medicare.gov ratings of 5 stars for all categories – health inspection, staffing, quality measures, and overall rating – as well as their HealthGrove.com Smart Rating of 96 out of 100, we recommend St. Lawrence Rehab Center as a quality option for skilled nursing care. CCRC: Stonebridge at Montgomery Health Care Center

100 Hollinshead Spring Road, Skillman, NJ 08558

Stonebridge at Montgomery Health Care Center is a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) that offers a wide range of living and care, from independent living to skilled nursing and rehabilitation. They pride themselves on being able to provide a great living environment for all seniors, regardless of the level of care one needs. For example, they have an entire neighborhood called Taylor Commons – a place dedicated to caring for those afflicted with dementia/Alzheimer’s through an enhanced program they call Friendship Lounge. The amount of activities and amenities provided at Stonebridge as well as the freedom to do the things you love on your own time are what attracts so many seniors to this beautiful location. Costs will vary greatly depending on one’s living space and care required, so it is difficult to provide accurate payment expectations. However, according to HealthGrove.com, the daily cost of a private room bed in their skilled nursing center is about $399*. Although pricier than the average retirement community, Stonebridge does accept private pay, LTC insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid as forms of payment. They received top overall ratings from both Medicare.gov and HealthGrove.com, as well as a number of positive reviews. Therefore, we recommend Stonebridge at Montgomery Health Care Center as a quality choice for a CCRC. For more information and a look at their ratings, please call or visit:
